NJ MVC has some of the toughest requirements for identification. All students must have at least 6 points of identification. We are here to help you if you have any questions about getting your “6 POINTS OF ID”.

"6 POINTS OF ID"
In order to obtain certain documents, like a driver license, or to verify changes to your driver record, you must prove your identity by passing the 6 Points of ID plus a Social Security number, ITIN, or affidavit.
You must also provide proof of your address and that you are a New Jersey resident.
- At least one Primary Document
- At least one Secondary Document
- A verifiable Social Security Number (SSN), or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN), or a letter of ineligibility for an SSN from the Social Security Administration (SSA)
